Performative Walk
Maryam Hashempour and Sall Lam were invited to host a performative walk following the screening of The Walk at the CPH:DOX Film Festival. The Walk documents the journey of Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian girl, created by the Handspring Puppet Company, as she crosses borders around the world.
The performative walk created a space for participants to further process and discuss not only the documentary but also some of the urgent questions facing our cities. Through a series of performative scores, it invited participants to reflect on the politics of citizenship and the territories of belonging.
