An Autofiction Performance
Final Attachment
Final Attachment is an autofiction performance by Iranian theater-maker Maryam Hashempur. This project emerged from a digital collaboration among Iranian diaspora artists across Sweden, Iran, Canada, and Germany. As a participatory experience, this performance invites the audience on a journey through a personal history, where the act of “seeing” and “being seen” in a black box becomes a lens to explore state violence and displacement. This project was produced by the Malmö Theatre Academy as Maryam Hashempour’s graduation piece. It was developed following a residency at Köntrar Theater in Stockholm and later staged in Malmö. Using elements of micro-theatre, the project provided an opportunity for the collaborators to reflect artistically on bureaucratic violence in Sweden.
