Relingo

Relingo is an invisible performance for a single spect-actor. The participant meets a stranger in an alley and, for the remainder of the performance, is guided by them through an online platform. They are also given a key. The key to a [literal] nowhere. The key to a Relingo. Exploring the possibilities of relingos—vacant lots embedded within the urban fabric—while combining a process of wandering with the experience of inhabiting a relingo, the performance attempts to turn its participants into excavators of the city's past and architects of its future at the same time. By sheltering them in anonymity and invisibility, it offers participants a utopian timeframe in which the order of their heavily policed city can be overturned. Freed from surveillance, participants stand somewhere between presence and absence, the private and the public, and stage their most marvellous performance invisibly.

The project was presented at the 21st Tajrobeh Theatre Festival on Azadi Street in Tehran.
