The Ants
Maryam Hashempour collaborated with Mohammad Karambeigi on The Ants, an experimental play presented at the International Universities Theatre Festival.
The Ants centres on the story of four men who work and live at a construction site. It portrays them navigating a paradoxical state: frustrated by being forced to constantly relocate from one site to another, while simultaneously becoming strangely attached to these temporary places. The piece explores questions of identity and belonging while investigating the actor's embodiment as a site where these tensions are performed and negotiated.
